Can anyone become a successful entrepreneur?

Me - Father, I am thinking of starting my own business, job is not my cup of tea!

Papa - Son, a job has boundaries of time & work but business has no boundar, you would have to work 25* hours a day, and there is no guaranteed success.

I thought he might be joking or trying to manipulate me. I left my job & started a startup with a few of my friends. Within a year we failed drastically & decided to wind up as early as possible.

Later, I realized my papa was partially right.

But does it mean no one shall try it? Or does it require something which not everyone knows or implements?

There is a possibility of success & one can manage it within 8-10 hours. However, it requires one to be ready for it with essential attributes in order to jump into the entrepreneurial journey.

Very few prepare, most of them learn on the way. It's your choice. I learned by observing my failures and the success of many young entrepreneurs.

Here are the 9 essentials that must have in a potentially successful entrepreneur:

1. Growth Mindset: One who is highly adaptive & open-minded to learn & grow from anyone, anywhere, anytime without any constraint of age/channel/place, etc.

2. Quick Decisionmaker: One who is always ready to take decisions quickly to implement, fail, learn, re-implement & so on.

3. Consistent & Disciplined: One who can strongly focus on a thing regularly by will & skill.

4. Highly Collaborative: One who knows how to create a win-win situation & can develop the skill of conflict management.

5. Self-starter: One who couldn't look for external motivation factors. Unlike at a job one gets recognition/award/reward. In business, one has to self-motivate, at times, no one would consider your efforts.

6. Purpose-driven: One must have a clear purpose for action. It can be for people, causes, social issues, innovation, etc. One must stick to it in any stage of business to keep it alive.

7. Highly Agile: One has the will and ability to handle any difficult situation in order to execute the purpose.

8. Strong Problem Solver: One shall have the ability to critically think and look for possible solutions in order to solve day-to-day operations.

9. A Balanced mix of Rationality & Emotional instinct: One who could regulate rationality & emotions as per the need of the situation.

Above all are needful in a potentially successful entrepreneur, however, trait wise one has to be EMPATHETIC & GIVER as entrepreneurship is a SELF-LESS job. Anyone who has practiced the above attributes can be a successful entrepreneur irrespective of age, geographic location, gender, or socio-economic condition.
