Can It Be All So Simple?

Can It Be All So Simple?

But for now it's just a big dream

Cause I find myself in a place where I'm last seen

My thoughts must be relaxed, be able to maintain

Cause times is changed and life is strange

The glorious days is gone and everybody's doin' bad

Yo, mad lives is up for grabs

Brothers passin' away, I gotta make wakes

Receivin' all types of calls from Upstate

Yo, I can't cope with the pressure, settlin' for lesser

The God left lessons on my dresser

So I can bloom and blossom, find a new way

Continue to make more hits with Rae and A

Sunshine plays a major part in the daytime

There is beauty in the simplicity of this singular line.

“Cause I find myself in a place where I'm last seen”?

Regardless of the life we have lived, everyone has felt similarly. As I have mentioned in the past, still water breeds illness. To find oneself in the same place as before despite the passing of time, challenged by the desire to grow with nowhere to go. That in many ways is the beauty of music—the transcendent expression of human existence in 3 minutes that connects to listeners from all walks of life.

Taken as a whole, this part of the verse does so much with simple words to convey such complex, nuanced ideas. Beyond the words themselves, the meaning of the words is coded, yet the simplicity remains. Layered, while simple, If you know me, you know I like a simple life. If you do not know me, let me introduce myself well by leading with how simple I prefer life to be, in all facets, in all areas.?

There are so many facets of compilation in the world, endless amounts of variables to consider, and countless factors to weigh. In the face of this, we have the responsibility to find ways to simplify when possible. Take, for example, this newsletter, Ideation. Rather than be overly duplicitous with my words in this form of writing, I try my hardest to be clear, succinct, and direct so that you all, as readers, can take away actionable information in the most easy-to-digest format.?

Ghost in this verse captured a similar sentiment of simplicity I am speaking to. Life is strange; there is more going on than we can ever properly consider. However, as an individual, I can find a new way forward, to bloom and blossom, charting my own path. The unbeaten one, because no one before you has won traveling the same road.

This week, my hope is that you remember what it takes to keep things simple. Remember the places in life you can do less and have more impact or places you can eliminate unneeded bloat. I am not asking you all to consider how in your professional lives you can incorporate these strategies. Instead, the hope is that you find ways for you as an individual to get rid of the things bogging down your day to day and focus more on the parts you have higher desire and impact in.

To answer the question, can it be all so simple?

Paradoxically? Yes. If you want it to be. And if you are willing to do the work to make it so
