Can AI Replace Humans?

Can AI Replace Humans?

AI and Machine Learning are gaining widespread popularity worldwide, with ChatGPT emerging as one of the prominent tools. When engaging in discussions about AI and Machine Learning, this common question often arises in people's minds. Sam Leung from The Aber Group provided valuable insights into this subject, addressing the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the career prospects of Generative AI in marketing.

Training ChatGPT: Nurturing it like a kid for the proper output

ChatGPT is pre-trained using a large amount of online blog and text content data. Sam described the process as being akin to raising a kid, emphasizing the need for proper training to ensure a successful algorithm. Many of us have experience with ChatGPT, and I am no exception. Using a prompt is essential for instructing and receiving a response from ChatGPT. I tend to provide detailed instructions to enable it to generate more relevant responses. These instructions may encompass considerations such as tone, word limits, keywords, and other factors.

I turn to ChatGPT for obtaining background information on various topics. It swiftly generates details about diverse marketing situations in various countries, enabling me to gain a rapid understanding within a short timeframe. To validate the accuracy of the information generated, I cross-check it with online sources. As Sam has pointed out, ChatGPT is also adept at producing a wide range of outputs, from simple code snippets, especially for fixing WordPress issues, to recipes, and more.

In fact, Generative AI offers several advantages in marketing.

1.???? Efficient research and briefing on various topics:

  • ChatGPT efficiently produces fundamental background information, providing a quick understanding of various topics within a short timeframe. This saves both time and research costs.

2.???? Web and ad copywriting:

  • 谷歌 uses generative AI to automatically generate new headlines based on landing page content, enhancing ad relevance.

3.???? Image Generation:

However, Generative AI has its drawbacks.

1.???? Data quality is not always perfect:

  • Generative AI relies on various data sources to train its algorithms, and the training can impact the quality of the output. For example, Google Photos mistakenly tagged people as gorillas. Similarly, ChatGPT acknowledges that incomplete training or differences in cultural and language nuances, as outlined in its terms of use, may lead to incorrect outputs.

2.???? Copyright and legal concerns:

  • The SAG-AFTRA Strike exemplifies this concern, as actors fear losing control over their likenesses, voices, and performances, while writers worry about losing due credit when their works are utilized to train Generative AI.?

3.???? Privacy concerns:

  • Generative AI requires a substantial amount of data for training, which might include personal or other sensitive information. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the use of Generative AI complies with the privacy laws of various countries.

Human creativity and humor remain irreplaceable by AI!

SAG-AFTRA expresses concerns about career prospects in light of AI and machine learning, a sentiment shared by the general public, including myself. Generative AI requires significantly less time to learn and can swiftly produce content and images on a wide range of topics. The good news, as Sam has shared, is that human creativity and humor remain irreplaceable by AI currently. Human input remains essential for AI learning, and humans can serve as gatekeepers for proofreading the content generated by AI.

AI and machine learning are indispensable for the future. As marketers, we should develop these skills and stay up-to-date with industry trends to maintain our competitiveness. Sam recommended subscribing to industry publications such as Canadian Marketing Association and IAB as good ways to stay informed about industry trends. Joining industry groups on Not in Use also works well.

To conclude, AI and machine learning are the unavoidable trends of the future. Human input remains vital for utilizing AI, and creativity and humor are qualities that AI cannot replace. Let's embrace the advantages of AI!

As a programmer AI made my workflow so much faster. But we are the still the ones who has to come up with overall picture and ideas tho, you just don't have to re-invent the wheel anymore. AI is already very impressive but definitely still has room for improvement. So I agree!
