Can AI pretend to be more human than us. Captcha tricked by AI.
Captcha has gotten difficult over the years. From just clicking on ‘I am not a robot’ and the websites believing you; to clicking on multiple Cars, Traffic lights, Busses, and Crosswalk, yet many a times we do not get passed on as a human. Yes, we do sometimes miss a hidden traffic light, click on a truck instead of a bus or just plain lazy; but let's face it, captcha has gotten difficult over the years and it faces far more challenges with the dawn of smarter AI (Artificial Intelligence).
CAPTCHAs are the tests used by websites to battle back against bots, asking website visitors to prove they're human before proceeding. The leading and one of the most popular system that you might have come across is Google's reCAPTCHA. However, Recently Part of recaptcha was fooled by reinforcement learning with text and image based CAPTCHAs accurately cracked by captcha solvers in no time. All the while, many of us are yet to find the last fire hydrant to pass the captcha.
Imagine this trend continuing, with us having to compete with Bots to prove that we are (The real) Human. How can we compete with machine learning algorithms when the bots are far more resourceful and can identify images with far more accuracy than us, they can compute complicated equations accurately within seconds. They can detect voice modulations, win games, and the list goes on. Quite a dilemma.
Well, lets try flipping this over. Imagine a captcha designed to filter out humans and deny us access to some data or a vault in the web unless we solve a complex puzzle. A highly complicated problem, with equations, images, and everything one can toss into the pan. We would never get access to such ‘AI only club’ with our mediocre computational power alone. We would need an AI companion - Fancy an AI pokemon bot?
I think you get the picture by now. The matter is not just about a captcha and the ‘Prove you are not a bot’ game, but that AI is already playing a big role in our computing lives and that we are nearing a threshold where the current systems that are in place can easily be overrun by AI.
And those that wield the most efficient AI by their side will wield the greatest power, and dominate the AI hierarchy. The stronger AI by your side, the more power you hold, The more power nations flaunt.
What are your thoughts? How do you see the future of AI unfolding? Would love to read your inputs.

5 年somewhere i feel we are all working and creating future monsters which might go unconrtrolled someday nothing bad in technology but seems like should be under control .... just a thought
