Thanks to Team Tata Consultancy Services for the session on "Campus to Corporate Journey". Very informative, a simple session with key inputs useful for students. Following is the crux of the session.
Mr. Gaurav Ghelani:
Introduced about TCS Indore Office. A presentation of the future workspace and opportunities for students based in MP. TCS has the best learning platform and has agility in terms of onboarding new resources to project with comprehensive learning platform. TCS has been a key stakeholder in automating passport services for the Indian Government. Be a part of building a nation. Be a part of TCS. Healthcare, Government Services, Insurances, Financial Institutions, and may core sectors are key project domains for Tech Giant TCS
Mr. Praveen Mukati:
- Accept challenges that come with the opportunities
- Be dedicated without worrying about the outcome
- communication skills are the most important. It is not just about language rather about the way of expression
- technology is changing at a brisk pace, you have to be a quick learner to be successful especially in the tech space
Mr. Akshay Kothari:
Introduced about TCS initial learning program (ILP)
Ashay is from Mechanical engineering background and ILP proved to be a game-changer for him to succeed in TCS.
A non-CS IT branch is not a deterrent to join TCS as it has clients from the engineering & automative sector where engineers like him from Core Mechanical prove to be an asset
Ms. sameeksha dhoble:
To be useful for a client project you need to be a quick learner and be open to learning different technologies. There are many portals within TCS to get certified and learn new tech.
Professionalism is important. You should know how to put forward your message professionally. Teamwork and being a good team worker are key to her success.
Good Work culture is important to grow to incorporate. You can reach your seniors anytime and take help beyond hierarchy. Apart from work, there are many events and fun tasks at the account level regularly which is a relief from a serious routine and it helped her bonding with the team. Being a dancer she could explore her skill in various events at TCS thus giving her holistic growth.
She advised students to not be afraid to accept their shortcomings in technology. The team is always open to incorporate to help peers grow.
Mr. Prashant Joshi:
The transition from Campus to Corporate is very important. You have to embrace the process instead of seeing it as a challenge. It is all about your mindset. The first few days may be tough but it's worth the effort.
Soft skills are the most important skill that you need to work on to be successful. TCS provides an internal platform to enhance these skills for its employees. TCS employees also have free access to premium professional certification programs like Udemy. You can also opt for external certifications and TCS will help you at each and every step. He has experienced care and trust at TCS. He was introduced to SAP which was known to him however ILP helped him gain quick expertise using the teachings by experienced developers.
Mr. Durgesh Thakur:
You may have to unlearn a lot to learn new things. A digital profile is an offering by TCS where you can join TCS and opt for higher packages by clearing internal exams. TCS even supports its eligible employees to take study leaves for completing Master's programs.
