Campbell County Enhancement Fund

I just wanted to take a moment to write about the The Campbell County Enhancement Fund and what it does and why you should consider donating to this particular fund. This fund is managed through the East Tennessee Foundation who manage a great number of endowed funds throughout East Tennessee. This particular fund is for the benefit of Campbell County.

I have been on the board of this fund for the last few years and I am currently chairman and I just want to try to encourage those of you who are out there who might like to make a difference by donating to our fund. We are currently working on a new grant cycle that will hopefully issue more than 10K in grants this December to local non-profits who respond with grant proposals to our request for proposals. We are truly hoping to be able to increase the endowment so that we are able to issue grants every year and hopefully build on the amount of grants each and every year.

If you are looking for a place to make a donation such that you can be sure it will go to a good cause in the county, this is a great place to give. We, as the board, do site visits and follow up to make sure all of our grants are used in the manner that was proposed in the grant proposal. We review all of the requests and depending upon the amounts requested and the number of request, we honor the best of the proposals and as many as we can that have met our expectations and reviews. The process ensures that the money is going to good causes and our follow up allows us to monitor how the organization did actually use the money.

Everyone who is on the board locally doing the reviews and the work on deciding where the money goes are volunteers to the money donated is going to go to those in need. The funding for the work the East Tennessee Foundation does typically comes from the earnings from the endowment and they have an excellent track record for investment management and make sure to keep costs down to a minimum to ensure that as much of the money as possible is going to those who are in need.
