Camp Changes Lives
It amazes me that this mission has been my avocation for over 48 years. I am blown away that we have touched the lives of tens of thousands of children in our 48 years of serving. The volunteers that serve on our board are amazing people, making a difference in the life of a child every day. Our current full time staff, who have over 100 man years experience at Camp Herrlich are some of the most creative, dedicated, passionate people I have ever the pleasure to meet.
Here is a six minute look at the impact our resident camp has on the children we serve.
I am looking to make a significant impact on the future of Camp Herrlich by reaching out to my LinkedIn friends to see if they can help me build up an endowment to insure the continuation of our mission in perpetuity.
I currently have over 3,750 1st contacts here in LinkedIn who all have their own contacts. I have no idea who you know that might be interested in supporting our cause that you might share this message with. I have no idea how many people this request could possibly touch but I am optimistic that a few of you will like and share to your own networks.
Our need is simple - we serve hundreds of children each summer and throughout the school year that require scholarship assistance. We also have a continuous need to maintain and improve our facility - to keep up with or stay ahead of the normal wear and tear of having 400 plus kids on camp every summer day brings as well as the other nine months of programming activity on the camp property during the school year.
We have created a GoFundMe Fundraising Page to help tell our story and also help in our efforts to provide you with a place on-line to donate. You can also donate directly on the Camp Website's Donate Page. Your donations can be a one time event or you could pledge and contribute over the coming months and years.
Any support you or your friends can provide would be greatly appreciated. Our need this year is greater than ever as many of our kids are coming from shelters with just the clothes on their backs. In addition to caring for them, we are providing sleeping gear, shoes, clothes and toiletries - the necessities for having a great time at Camp Herrlich and hopefully improving their lives when they go home.
