Camden Coalition welcomes four new Board of Trustees members in 2025
We are pleased to announce four new appointments to the Camden Coalition Board of Trustees:?
Mahshid Abir, MD, MSc, senior physician policy researcher at RAND?
Dr. Abir is a practicing emergency physician whose research evaluates the acute care continuum including pre-hospital, emergency, inpatient, and ambulatory care. Her past work includes developing measures for hospital surge capacity funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response. She also evaluated patient-centered outcomes as part of health system redesign initiatives.?
Dr. Abir is an expert in both mixed-method and community-based participatory research, a leader of multiple federally funded COVID-19 capacity solution and vaccine uptake projects, and a thought leader on public health emergency preparedness for high-risk individuals including older adults. Her work reflects her commitment to bridging public health and emergency medicine infrastructure into person-centered care. We are excited to work with her to continue our vision of transformed health and social systems that meet the needs of individuals, regardless the circumstances.?
Carl Boyd, Community Liaison for the Center for Family Services?
?Carl serves as Parent Leader with New Jersey’s Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Prenatal to Three / Help Me Grow program and as a Community Advocate with the Camden County Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network. In both roles, Carl advocates for building inviting spaces for fathers and father figures to come to the table.?
?Carl was recently selected as a National Consumer Scholar with the Camden Coalition. As a complex care patient living with the effects of long COVID, he has used his experiences to inform his role as a community leader and advocate throughout Camden and South Jersey. His leadership in community planning will be a welcome addition to the Camden Coalition Board and will serve as a positive influence on our work as a Regional Health Hub in New Jersey.?

Stephanie Burdick, community organizer and health policy advocate based in Salt Lake City, Utah?
?Though it does not define her, Stephanie is a survivor of a traumatic brain injury and brings this unique lived experience to her work in advancing health equity by empowering those who are most impacted by policies. Due to prior work experience in both hospitality and university enrollment services, Stephanie knows that seamless and coordinated service is possible and will continue to advocate for safety net programs to better deliver to beneficiaries. Through Stephanie’s goal to bring more voices to the table, she has built strong relationships and partnerships with dozens of organizations, leaders, and community members throughout Utah.?
?Since receiving her public health degree from Brigham Young University, Stephanie has served as an advocate for improved Medicaid value, the broadening of social service program access, community-based workforce supports, and de-stigmatizing social service beneficiaries. Her unique background of lived experience and policy expertise will be a great benefit to the Camden Coalition’s work to inform regional and national complex care programs through community engagement.?
Marc Rabner, MD, MPH, pediatrician, preventive medicine physician, and Chief Medical Officer at CRISP Shared Services (CSS)?
?Dr. Rabner is passionate about enhancing coordination in the healthcare system to improve patient outcomes and address complex healthcare challenges across clinical, community, and public health sectors. Dr. Rabner helps ensure that CSS's tools offer practical value to the care team and positively impact patients' lives. ?
?He helps ensure that CRISP SS's tools offer practical value to the care team and positively impact patients' lives. The Coalition is thrilled to welcome Dr. Rabner’s invaluable perspective on how we can better leverage data & technology — including our own HIE — to better serve people.
Their unique perspectives and experiences will undoubtably strengthen our efforts to protect the health and well-being of people with complex needs by demonstrating and advancing equitable?ecosystems of care. ?
