Appointment of a new nodal officer for implementation of Section 12A of The Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005 and Section 51A of “The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967”-

Vide circular dated February 5, 2025, the International Financial Services Centres Authority (“IFSCA”) has partially modified the circular dated October 20, 2023 (available here)? and the communication dated April 21, 2023 (available here) regarding implementation of provisions of section 51A of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (“UAPA”), and section 12A of the Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005 (“WMD Act”).

Pursuant to the foregoing, Mr. Ankit Bhansali, General Manager, division of AML & CFT, IFSCA has been designated as the new nodal officer for the implementation of provisions of Section 51A of the UAPA and Section 12A of the WMD Act. .
