Calories Control Everything

Don’t listen to anyone or any piece of information that tells you otherwise…

Let me explain…

Every single diet that has ever led to weight loss has done so because it leads people to eating fewer calories than they burn (a?caloric deficit). Be it the ketogenic diet, intermittent fasting, paleo, vegetarian/vegans diets or even Atkins – these diets all create a situation where you will eat fewer calories, move into s caloric deficit, which will result in you losing weight.

So yes, thats does mean you could eat mars bars every day and lose weight?as long as you are in a caloric deficit. Do we recommend you to do this? No! Why? Well:

1. Your diet needs to satisfy your hunger cravings.?Eating a mars bar will leave you hungry even though you have eaten enough calories. The result is that you end up eating too many calories and gaining weight.

2. It’s not all about the weight, yes you do want to lose fat but you also want maintain muscle mass. Eating enough protein is very important for this. A diet based on how many mars bars you can fit in will not give optimal protein levels

3. You will most likely not get enough micronutrients.?Whilst mars bars do taste great, they are low in vitamins and minerals which are essential for your long term health. Even though calories will control your weight, lack of vitamins/minerals can make you feel tired, weaken your immune system, nervous system, and give you a range of other diseases in the long run.

One key point you need to be aware of is…

The number of calories you need to lose or gain weight varies over time!?This is due to your bodies metabolism will change to stop you from gaining or losing too much weight.

This means that you can’t simply stick to a set number of calories to gain or lose weight.

Calories matter, and anyone who says that they don’t is someone who you shouldn’t be taking advice from.% I'm ending the calorie debate!!
