Calm before the Storm in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Its just past midnight and it is indeed quiet.  Currently, there is a slight hint of trickling rain meandering down the almost barren cobble stone streets of the romantic district in Puerto  Vallarta tonight.  The shopkeepers' have been busy tonight, stacking sandbags in an orderly fashion as if to suggest they are guards of the palace. 

Gone are the brightly hued sand toys, replaced with a long stretch of pure sand - unobstructed by the hotel apparatus that is the mainstay of this lovely destination vacation paradise.  The advance and retreat of the ocean is truly the harbinger of Patricia - no, this is not my sister (for those that know her) - it's the slow moving category 5 due to descend upon us like an unwanted party guest sometime tomorrow afternoon (of course that will just before game 6 starts for our Blue Jays - darn, going to miss the excitement of another kind).  The air has been gaining viscosity since last week and tomorrow will be the telltale story of another sort - what yet, we are not quite sure.

I am both excited to be a participant and slightly nervous about the depth and scope of what Patricia has in store for us and the many residents and tourists of PV.  I will keep in touch.
