Welcome to 90 Second Mentor! Each week you can pause for 90 seconds and receive bite sized wisdom from notable thought leaders, curated by Dr. Mark Goulston, Mary Olson-Menzel, Evan J. Schapiro and Beverley Delay. Every Wednesday stay tuned to watch a new 90 second pearl of wisdom.
The first line in Aiming Higher, "Some wake to an alarm, some wake to a calling," immediately inspired us to revisit our own purpose and our own why.
We know from experience that being intentional about embracing one's calling will bring more meaning to the workplace.
My friend and colleague Mary Olson-Menzel, Executive Coach and founder of MVP Executive Development, spoke with Air Force pilots Kim "KC" Campbell, Jason O. Harris, and Chris "Elroy" Stricklin. Along with fellow pilots Robert "Cujo" Teschner and Daniel Walker, they wrote Aiming Higher to share their combined wisdom from their time in the military.
Each felt a sense of purpose?and knew that earning trust and respect as a leader made all the difference.
Take care of your people, make an impact daily and define your legacy.
So, what is your purpose??What is the legacy you want to leave?
Mark, Mary, Evan, and Beverley
P.S. Check out the latest book Flying in the Face of Fear from best-selling author Kim "KC" Campbell.

2 年Love this. Knowing my "why" gets me up every day and helping my clients understand this is often life changing for them.
On target stuff as usual Mark! Let me know somebody's pantheon of heroes, and it can serve as a kind of associations map as companies do in their own branding. From heroes to goals/purpose, it's often a straight (though submerged) line that when people think --and FEEL through - can prepare them to transform and improve their lives.
