Calling Journalists and Producers: An idea to help homeless vets in Phila and nationwide

STORY IDEA:
Just by accident, I ended up at a Philadelphia homeless shelter for military veterans three weeks ago. A place where there is a lot of fear, trauma, drama, anxiety, depression and boredom. I was passing by and saw two older men standing outside. I asked for directions and then Divine Providence kicked in. Before I knew it, I was asking the director if 10 of my friends and I could host a Valentine for Vets party on February 11th. And to my surprise, it all came to fruition. It went so well that we decided to plan the next party. On March 11th, we will host a Motown Magic Line Dance Party complete with Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide and Soul City Walking lessons, food and fun. Would you like to join us?
This is a project that others could replicate in their own communities. I can tell them how to go about organizing it. Would you like to join us on March 11th at 1 pm? Here's the link to the WHYY public radio story, with audio. https://www.newsworks.org/index.php/homepage-feature/item/101375-bringing-warmth-and-love-to-philly-homeless-veterans-for-valentines-day?nocache=1
I know that you like to bring stories to your audience that are uplifting especially when so much of the news brings people's spirits down. Here is a picture of one of the vets. He looks pretty happy with the blanket made by my friend Cindy. We brought 42 home-made blankets - one for each homeless vet.
I look forward to sharing ideas with you and helping others who are looking for a passion and purpose......like I was. An empty-nester mom looking for something meaningful to do with my life. I think I found my new tribe. Thank you very much. I look forward to hearing from you.
