Calling Creators: Time to Host Your First Audio Event On LinkedIn
Since we kicked off the Audio Events beta as part of our larger event strategy, we’ve seen creators connecting more deeply with their audience through industry deep dives, “ask me anything†chats, conversations on relevant professional topics and much more. Creators in the beta immediately saw the advantage of having their professional profile connected with the event which increased their credibility, encouraged more attendees, and helped us surface the most relevant events to our members.?
Now we’re making it easy for creators across the globe to host Audio Events and interact with their communities. Starting today, and rolling out over the next few weeks, we’ll allow more creators to host Audio Events to anyone who has the creator mode turned on and meets our community policies of being a trustworthy, safe, and professional provider of content.
With this announcement, we’re excited to highlight some key features of the Audio Event experience, as well as share how beta testers have benefited from using this feature.
- Easy event creation: It takes just a few minutes to create an Audio Event. Start by clicking on the Event + icon found on the left navigation bar, then click the Event Format dropdown bar and select “Audio Event.†Add your event’s name, date, time, and description — and make sure you get the word out by inviting connections to RSVP. And with that, you’re all set to host your interactive event!?
- Timely Event Notifications: Once your event is created, and the RSVP’s start rolling in, we will remind and notify your attendees so they don’t miss your event either via emails or notifications on the platform.??
- Auto Captioning: We recently rolled out captions to make Audio Events more accessible and inclusive. To turn captions on, click the "..." icon in the upper-right corner of the Audio Event window and select "Turn on captions." The real-time video transcription will appear at the bottom of the Audio Event window.
- Notifications and Discovery: We now feature Audio Events in the My Network tab to help people discover relevant Audio Events. Members can browse and RSVP, and see people both in their network and others who are attending. Click the “See all†button to see a longer list of interesting and upcoming events.

If you decide to host your own Audio Event— and hopefully you will — here’s how this feature can help you.
It can help you expand your connections and build community:
- Talent recruiter Robert Hanna, who hosts events on topics such as attracting and retaining staff, says Audio Events help him “strengthen the human-to-human relationship with existing people within my community,†as well as “increase the strength of new connections made through the power of voice.â€
- Cory Connors, a sustainable packaging consultant, hosts a weekly Audio Event networking gathering (with co-hosts Adam Peek and Evelio Mattos) to discuss the latest trends in his field. Those events present an opportunity for people in the sustainable packaging industry “to join up and help each other,†he says. It keeps the conversation going.
- Mita Malick, co-host of Brown Table Talk, a podcast that empowers women of color to get ahead professionally, says Audio Events are “a perfect way for us to continue the conversation after we drop an episode. It gives our audience a chance to show up, ask questions, and more importantly, share their stories.â€
It can unlock business opportunities:
- Entrepreneur and communications consultant Clarene Mitchell hosts Audio Events on topics such as personal branding and content creation, which have helped her expand her client roster. “My consistent use of LinkedIn Audio Events has allowed me to grow my business,†she says. “Within 24 hours of one of my Audio Events, I had a sales call with someone who joined me on stage and added her to my portfolio of clients. It is unlikely I would have secured her as a client if she had not attended my Audio Event.â€
- Rachel and Joshua B Lee shared that “after hosting audio events on LinkedIn, we saw a number of folks show interest in joining future training sessions and coaching... so very helpful in creating conversations and opportunities!"
- John Kraski, who hosts regular audio events to talk about NFTs, said, “LinkedIn Audio helped me unlock hundreds of new connections which led to many new partnership opportunities and clients. The impact was so strong that this channel helped me land my new job!

2 年Devin Skolnick so I got access last week and jumped straight in!!! Had over 400 people sign up to attend in less than 13 hours, but only 20-25 could get in at any time and many had issues “loading the audio event†Today I had another and it went a bit smoother with incredible discussions around building meaningful connections, Neurodiversity and diversity and inclusion. Still only had 30-35 people able to come in with many still not able to enter the room. Is there a cap on how many people can be in the audience? #linkedinaudioevent
