Calling all Hobby-artists

I am looking for hobby-artists. People who in their spare time, draw, sketch, or paint, whether it be in pencil, ink, charcoal, acrylic, oils, watercolour, digitally, or using another medium.

I am particularly interested in those that have a love of nature and the great outdoors, and whose home-art often reflects this.

I am publishing a book this year. It is a book that acknowledges and celebrates difference in people, and a story told through experiences in nature. My book will connect with both children and adults and will be available in high-end independent book shops, art galleries, and the like.

I am keen to hear from hobby-artists who are interested in having a piece of their art published within my book. Ideally, it will be a piece that you have already created, although consideration will be given to those that are keen to develop a new piece for a specific page in the book. Either way, each particular piece of art will function as imagery that tells part of the story and supports the theme of celebrating differences.

Why am I looking for hobby artists only?

As a self-employed copywriter, editor, and business consultant myself, I recognise that those that create art for a living should not be asked to create work for free; we all have bills to pay and I do not wish to exploit anyone. I am only engaging with individuals who create art for the love of it, and in their spare time.

All published artwork will be credited with the artist's name and location, and a percentage of book sales will be donated to charity. *Charity TBD. This publication of my book is not a money-spinning exercise; the vast majority of book publishers do not earn a living from their work. What the book will do is share beautifully created art from a mix of individuals—art that otherwise might not have been seen—while sharing a story that inspires.
