Calling All Entrepreneurs
Nicole Graham ??????
Marketing Director at VS Group - Helping people build strong brands
We will hopefully look back at this time in quarantine and remember how we took advantage of our time when the world stood still. It is a time when we have all been asked to avoid each other for the betterment of humanity. Most businesses are at a standstill, animals are taking back their habitats, air pollution is at an all time low and countries like Canada are realizing how much we depend on other countries for our products.
These are most certainly unprecedented times. One thing for certain however is being sequestered to our homes means that we have all been put on an equal playing field for once, limited only by the quality of our internet. Whether you are the CEO of a Fortune 500 company or a small business owner, if you have small children in the house we are all equal when it comes to video conference calls because you never really sure what is going to happen.
For those entrepreneurs who are learning to adapt and accept that things will never again be the same, I applaud you for doing everything you can to keep your dream alive and doing everything you can to keep your staff employed. Being an entrepreneur usually means you are a unique individual and are skilled at pivoting when you need to, but I think the pivots we are all doing now are perhaps more than anyone could have imagined.
We have been working with entrepreneurs on a daily basis to shift their businesses to online platforms, set-up communication channels for sales, shipping and delivery, set-up operations at alternative locations and the list goes on. We are adapting on a daily basis as are our clients and their clients. One thing is certain however, although things are not how we anticipated them for April 2020, it has certainly given us all an opportunity to rethink, re-group and dig deep.
Even those of us that have been deemed essential services are seeing clients that have figured out new supply chain processes, reconfigured business operations and have learned a new way to communicate with customers. We are all able to adapt and change. Take this time to assess how you were operating and take the time to figure out how to streamline what you were doing and do it better. The world has given us the opportunity to stop and take stalk of our lives and our businesses and do a better job, don’t waste it!
