?? Calling All Control Freaks and Workaholics

We get really attached to how we want to do things, don’t we?
We know exactly how we want the thing to turn out, and how we’re going to force that to be true.
My children were telling me about the brilliant, world-changing discoveries that weren’t planned at all:
?? Cornflakes were created by accident
?? Penicillin was discovered because Fleming didn’t do the washing up, then went away on his hols
?? Microwave ovens were developed when radar experiments melted a chocolate bar in a scientist's pocket by mistake (alarming, that one)
? Mary Shelley dreamt her novel Frankenstein, curing her of writer's block!
Whether or not you believe there’s a mysterious guiding force behind all this, we’ve all got to admit that sometimes mistakes, going on holiday and falling asleep can result in fantastic leaps forward in our work.
Meaning, we can be less controlling, less attached to the plan, and just keep stepping forward - with breaks, missteps and snoozes along the way - and we’ll still see results. Sometimes better ones than we could have created with an iron grip on proceedings.
What a relief! Time to let go a little, maybe have a nap, or a weekend.
See you soon,
Deana ??
