A Call to Remember our Combat Veterans and Veterans this Veterans Day

As we celebrate another Veterans Day, we must honor and recognize the sacrifices made by our active duty service members and veterans. They have selflessly served our country, risking their lives to protect the freedoms and values that we hold dear.

But as we reflect on the past, let us also look towards the future. As a combat veteran, I cannot help but feel a sense of concern and even fear for what may lie ahead. We are on the brink of heading back into another war.

With rising tensions and conflicts in various parts of the world, including the recent Israel and Hamas war, it is clear that peace is not always guaranteed. As we navigate these uncertain times, one thing is for sure - our combat veterans will again be called upon to serve and protect.

But what concerns me even more is that today's man is not the same as our WWII hero. The landscape of modern warfare has changed, and so have the challenges our military personnel face. Add in the complexity of dealing with an unknown number of military-aged males who have illegally entered our country, and the situation becomes even more volatile.

As we watch young people protest and demand a ceasefire in conflicts they do not fully understand, it is important to remember that we are not making the decisions. We may not agree with or fully comprehend the actions taken by our government, but we must trust and support our patriots as they navigate through these difficult situations.

Having lived in various parts of the world, I have seen firsthand how different cultures and religions treat people. And unfortunately, many of them would not accept or tolerate our LGBT community. The freedoms and values that we hold dear may be non-existent under their rules and beliefs.

As we honor our Veterans this Veterans Day, remember the sacrifices they have made and continue to push for our country. Let us remember that their experiences and perspectives are invaluable as we face potential conflicts in the future. And above all, let us hope for a peaceful resolution to these conflicts so that our veterans may finally come home without the burden of war on their shoulders.

So, to all active and veteran military personnel, we thank you for your service and dedication. And to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, may you rest in peace, knowing that your sacrifice has not gone unnoticed. As we navigate through these uncertain times, let us continue to honor and support our troops, regardless of where they may be stationed. The future may be uncertain, but with the bravery and resilience of our combat veterans, we can face whatever challenges may come our way. So, thank you to all the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. Happy Veterans Day. #UnitedWeStand #SupportOurTroops
