Call for Re-use Kansas City

I have always been a geek for antique materials and their potential applications in the landscape and garden. Salvaging antique cast stone statuary was my first taste of this world. Pits, scuffs, chips, and patina. I just love old stuff!

This love evolved to include antique clay paving brick, mill stones, iron, stockyard bricks, barn tin, barn wood, cabin logs, and stone.

Over the past week I have been wooed by my latest temptress. An entire church.

With much love there is also heartbreak. The church is scheduled for demolition beginning in December 2019. Yep, in a month.

The First Christ Church Scientist had set abandoned for quite some time before the fire that insured her demise.

Despite the devastating fire that caused a large section of her roof to collapse, much of her character and grandeur remains.

The demolition is a fact. The schedule has been set. The papers signed. But, a 2nd life is on the horizon and my fellow Kansas City creatives are the key to open the potential of that life.

Spread the word Kansas City! The soul of this church belongs in the Kansas City Metro. Now is our opportunity to breathe new life by spreading the love.

One rose window, one Gothic stained glass window, and a set of doors has already been spoken for but, the rest is first come first served.

Lets do this Kansas City! Lets re-use!
