They call me "Coach"

?As I look back on what got me to this point of my life of being a career and educational coach, consultant, mentor and advocate, I realize just how grateful I am for the experiences and most importantly for the people that have helped me to define who I am.

My profession is a coaching business and I use that term lightly, simply because many of my former players still call me coach and they honor and humble me with that. I have remained in contact with so many of my former players and students who helped me to learn about the world today....one class I taught years ago was actually called "The World Today". What a class. Not because of me, because of the students.

There were white country kids, inner city black kids, a Nigerian, a Japanese ( Kamikaze kid), a Bermudan, a Korean and the future King of the Royal Bafokong Nation. We talked about some serious sh.. that is so relevant to what is going on in the world today.

This is for the people I have coached ( Go Spartans, Go Lady Aggies, Go TCCS, Go Lions ). This is for the people I have taught and who taught me. This is for the hundreds of people I have worked with in the career industry, at universities and at private schools in the US. This is for the thousands I have been honored to support in their careers. It is amazing to watch what they have all achieved, most importantly for the people they are.

As I look back on the trials that we all went through together, there was a lot of testing of my character, which made me a better and stronger person. The bottom line is that we all really believed in ourselves. There was a chemistry, a spiritual harmony, that made it all worthwhile. Now that is special.
