In celebration of Philippine Environment Month, the Oscar M. Lopez (OML) Center opens registration for its mobile filmmaking competition - Mga Kwento ng Klima (MKK) Short Films 2024.
Open for all independent and professional filmmakers, the MKK Shorts 2024 aims to generate local climate stories highlighting the impacts and risks of climate change on various sectors, including local communities, agriculture and fisheries, forestry, biodiversity, health, freshwater resources, ecosystems, and sustainable development.
Film Pitch Deck Submission
To join the competition, interested participants are requested to submit a film pitch deck that will result in a five-minute live-action film in a narrative format produced using a mobile phone. Film genres can be drama, comedy, musical, action, suspense, historical, or science fiction. The competition does not accept documentary or animated films.
The narratives must have a strong climate lens, focusing on climate change impacts and risks. Submissions that do not address climate-related topics will not be considered.
The deadline for submission of film pitch decks is July 20, 2024 through the competition's registration form. Each filmmaker is allowed to submit up to two film pitch decks. For reference, the film pitch deck template can be accessed here.
