Introduction: The Call of Duty games are dominated by stories of brave soldiers, military conspiracies and differences in the perspective of peace. This project unlike its predecessors, will take players to the other side of the story. The other side of war. The civilians. War victims. The lives of unarmed and untrained daily workers, who but only desires to be able to feed their families and send their children to school. Call of Duty- Angel of Death provides players the opportunity to fulfill the one true duty of every single ordinary person in the world. To protect the innocents and stand for justice. The main reason behind considering Iraq as the game-scene owes to the several ongoing conflicts and sufferings endured by the civilians of war-beaten middle-east countries including Syria, which the world needs to be aware of of.

"Abu, how long till tomorrow? ..I can't wait to see aunt Ayizaah!"

Storyline: Raheem, a light hearted family man residing in a small village in Iraq as a farmer, emerges with an unreckonable force to protect his fellow countrymen who have become victims of war, after he loses his wife and two of his children to the brutal conflict between the US forces and ISIS. It all starts when few ISIS militants take refuge in his village without the knowledge of the residents, which results to multiple unanticipated airstrikes, causing severe collateral causalities to civilians. Raheem and his young daughter Nafiza, escapes the gruesome fate of his family being crushed by debris, while he tries to rescue the grandson of a neighbor. Meanwhile, his younger brother who was studying in US and his American journalist friend who came to Iraq to make a documentary on the conflicts, are being saved by fellow neighbors. Raheem, after going through several years of pain and remorse, forms a militia group which gradually grows into a massive force sending a wave of awakening throughout the world.

Gameplay: COD Angel of Death will adapt the famed COD first-person shooter mechanism with a smoother controls, simple user interface and interactive game elements. Players would venture through the eyes of Raheem, with occasional shifts to various important characters inorder to tell the story more effectively. Other than combat controls, it will also require certain inputs from the player to interact with a friendly character such as Raheem's daughter. Doing so would boost the relationship with the characters further. Players would have access to various types of weapons as the story progresses and each asset would bear strong roots to the story. For example, Raheem would start of with a rifle and finally end up with a crowbar snatched from an enemy while rescuing his American journalist friend from ISIS base, thus providing some values and necessity to the equipment. The project would also have classic COD gameplay scenarios such as controlling vehicles, airplanes, steamboats, choppers, parachuting and interacting with animals too. Easy key combinations and prompts would be used to enhance the gameplay further.

"Ya Allah! Why? ..I'm just a poor farmer. My family was everything I had. Tell me but this is just a dream."

Level Strategy: Players will be introduced to the peaceful life of Raheem and his family to establish a mutual connection with the character which will later help in providing an effective and immersive impact to be caused by various upcoming events in the life of the character. An example scene can be, when the player is made to interact with family members during lunch at the beginning of the game. This brings the player very close to the characters to such a point that he starts caring for them. They become individuals rather than just a 3D model with a face. The next part is to use this as a foundation to build an intense desire of vengeance, pain, justice, thrill to take the player forward and make him satisfied for every action he takes as the story unfolds. It would be made a third-person hybrid playable section rather than a pure cinematic sequence when Raheem is about to find out the brutal fate of his family. This would further involve the player more instead of just making them watch a clip. As a series of gruesome events and struggles follow in the life of the character which will be a playable section, players would be prepared for the ultimate "rise" section which would be more of a true desire from the player himself rather than a planned event. Few examples can be, when Raheem is begging in the street for a piece of bread to feed his daughter, when he is trying to protect his daughter from street thugs on a chilly unforgiving night meanwhile getting beaten up severely, and when he makes his first kill following the kidnapping of his daughter to be sold as slave which also marks the beginning of his reign. As the story progresses, players are introduced to various missions embedded with different emotional objectives, such as rescuing his American journalist friend from ISIS base after receiving a threatening video, being captured and interrogated by the CIA, making deals and engaging with various world forces, merchants, drug lords and a massive network of gangs, feeding the poor and rescuing slaves from docks. One of the most important aspects of game is involving the player from the scratch in building an empire of militia which would send a massive wave of wakening throughout the world, thus making it a marvelous achievement of the player himself.

"Raheem, my old friend ..Why are you here? Are you still the same man Allah saw in you? Look at yourself at the mirror. You are still broken and vulnerable."

User Interface: Players would interact with COD Angel of Death through a very simple, fluent and easy interface. It would be designed in such a way that the process comes naturally when the players are engaged in an intense situation. For most part, it will retain the signature interface of its predecessors, meanwhile maintaining a close attention to ease of accessibility, notability and synchronization with the main gameplay. Proper color codes, bold icons, efficient key combinations for executing various actions are some of the few key features that would make the interface of the game stand out. One thing for sure, it would feature an on-the-fly ingame weapon upgrade and manipulation system. Also, a motion and gesture reading interface would be implemented. For example, a list of reactions would be given when various AIs make different gestures.

Artificial Intelligence: This is one of the most important part in the game and has great potential to make a huge difference in the market performance of the overall product. The smarter and more responsive the AI, the better the gameplay experience becomes. Surprise responsive elements and humane behavior would dominate the AI program of the game. Unpredictable movements, unanticipated faulty weapons, interacting with objects on their own, strange voluntary actions upon seeing the player, sudden climate influence, and vast diversity of dialogue and personality types are some of the AI features of COD Angel of Death. How would you feel when you are about to set off on a mission and suddenly your daughter runs towards you in tears and tells you how much she loves you? Great right?

"From now on, call me Mustafa. Tomorrow will be a new day. My people calls to me now. Take Nafiza to Ayizaah's place and keep her safe for me, will you?"

Multiplayer: Multiplayer option is one of the main reasons behind the success of COD franchise and other FPS games. Maintaining adequate dedicated servers, low bandwidth requirement for smooth gameplay, efficient match-making program, ease of accessibility, availability of game-elements, rewards and perks, affordable and vast upgrade option and equipments, are some of the feature that would be implemented in the game. There will be various random events such as co-op, PvP shootout, raid and stealth infiltration happening across a virtual map of the world with focus on the main scene of the game, while players could select and join in any of them. These events would involve different factions and groups comprised by actual players over the world. The multiplayer option would also provide players with opportunity to recruit and build up their own groups and create a base at a certain area around the world. Other options such as weapon trading, fund transfer, allegiance, troop trading would be implemented to enhance the experience further. It would be a wise initiative to focus more on this area while developing the overall game, with respect to the growing fame of e-sports.

Marketing: Nowadays, many companies have adopted unique and interesting marketing methods to sell their products. Interaction with real objects can leave more lasting influence in customers than seeing just a digital image. The only problem with this method is the cost of production and scale of execution. COD Angel of Death would adapt more of a hybrid marketing strategy that can solve these problems, simultaneously building a larger fan-base and fulfilling the dream of every COD player. Few experimental methods can include giving away unique affordable merchandise units, collaborating with social media, social experimenter, street performers, charity organizations to spread awareness of the adverse affects of war, developing free apps based on the game with helpful functionality and employing new methods of selling the game with customized accessory giveaways.

"This is not but the words of justice. I bring to the message of God. Tell Malik, I brought this head as a gift for the new prince."

VR Experience: It would be a little early to develop a VR multiplayer experience at this moment, but nonetheless with the growing craze for the technology and auxiliary devices being developed, it would be safe to say that someday players would embrace the experience on a wide scale owing to the dynamic change in the gaming industry. COD Angel of Death would pioneer the mode and pave way for further enhancements in the future.

Why COD Angel of Death?

  1. It would add a new flavor to the franchise and refresh players with a new experience.
  2. It would help spread awareness of the current situation induced by war and its adverse affects on civilians in the war-torn countries, throughout the world.
  3. It would focus more on story-induced combats to put more weight on the gameplay and make every decision of the player count.
  4. Simultaneously, players would be occasionally exposed to various humane interactions, thus establishing a connection which the game would thrive on.
  5. There will be unique combat features, appealing weapon controls, enhanced mobility, new object and environment interaction, and dynamic character behavior.
  6. New enhanced multiplayer option with simple and easy accessibility.
  7. Improved and unique AI which can leave the players surprised and wanting for more.
  8. Experimental VR multiplayer option to promote and embrace the new technology.
  9. A new level design strategy with proper sequencing of events to build the story in the mind of the player.
  10. Unique marketing strategy to further push the title.
  11. New methods to build a larger fan base.

Conclusion: Overall, COD Angel of Death is being designed with the pure intention to provide a new FPS gaming experience and mark a beginning for the next generation of gaming. In this project, every action and decision of the player would have huge value and impact on sync with the storyline. It would be more of anticipating the players to carry out the actions themselves because of their emotional reactions owing to the situations presented by the game. Further more, this project aims at adding a new flavor to the original franchise and pushing the title further. With unique gameplay features, and experience being implemented, COD Angel of Death would provide a new phase of gaming to the industry. Ending with a gesture of gratitude to the maker of the original game Activision, I would like to state the ownership of the franchise solely by the makers and conception of this project to further enhance the title.
