Call for a Doctoral Scholarship in Health Economics (2021-2024), EUR LIVE (UPEC, France)

Doctoral grants are allocated by the UPEC (Université Paris-Est Créteil) for 3 years from October 2021 to September 2024 for motivated applicants eager to work on Vulnerability in Health Economics & Public Health with a transdisciplinary approach.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria for applying Economics:

•  Master's degree with high skills in Economics.
• Candidate's excellence:

A research project written in English in Applied Economics and Public Policy Evaluation, focus on Vulnerability in Health (social and spatial inequalities in access to care and in access to insurance; inequalities in care supply; medical practice variation; target on vulnerable population such as low-income groups, the disabled, the elderly…in international comparative approach or specific focus). The research subject proposed must clearly show the relevance within the LIVE pilar of candidacy and the transdisciplinary dimension.

Interest for multidisciplinary approach (eg Economics and Epidemiology)

Excellent skills in Economics (microeconomics, macroeconomics, public economics, insurance economics…)

Excellent knowledge in Econometrics (qualitative variables, Data panel, …)

Proficiency in statistical software (SAS, STATA or R)

Ability to take on societal issues

English proficiency for non-native speakers (800 points for TOEIC test or equivalency

in another international test such as Cambridge or TOEFL.

Feasibility in 3 years

All candidates must fill out a formal application, including:

•  Curriculum Vitae
• Academic transcript (two last years)
• A Ph.D. project including the following topics: problematic, literature review, Ph.D. originality, relevance within the LIVE pilar (Health Economics & Public Health) of candidacy and the transdisciplinary dimension; methodology, references (up to 5 pages). The project must be validated by the supervisor affiliated with a EUR-LIVE research unit or hosting laboratory, before submission.
