STRATA II:

Manifesting through the layers

Verum Ultimum Art Gallery recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary!

One of the newer Verum themes (and this year is the second edition of) is, STRATA: Manifesting Through the Layers. The layers can be inferred as literal (in the material usage or striated appearance) or symbolic (as in layers of meaning and complexity). How is layering expressed through your work? Does your work reflect the layered aspects of our pandemic impacted world? Does your work represent the complexity of current world traumas & socioeconomic striations? Or perhaps layering is an aspect of your process to achieve expression & beauty? As with all Verum's calls for art, the curator never seeks to drive the work, the hope is to unveil unique visions. All mediums and modes of expression are welcome. The term Strata may be interpreted in many ways, not necessarily meant to be a literal elucidation. Verum Ultimum Gallery tasks artists to define “STRATA” for this second edition of this exhibition.

Verum Ultimum Art Gallery invites artists to explore the theme, STRATA for the second year in a row and enter work that is any interpretation of the call. Please note this exhibition will be ONLINE ONLY.

EXHIBITION DATES:

Open end of March of 2023 and runs for a minimum of 5 weeks.

ELIGIBILITY AND RESTRICTIONS:

The competition is open to all 2D and 3D artists, national and international, working in all forms of painting, drawing, photography, graphics, digital, and sculpture are eligible. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

EXHIBITION:

Selected artists will be featured in a virtual group exhibition online on the Verum Ultimum Art Gallery website. This includes an exhibition page and virtual viewing galleries that show the work in scale. Artists will also be featured through online blogposts. Social media attention and promotion will remain on this exhibition for 5 weeks.
