Call for Applications: Equity Changemakers Institute, Class of 2025
Center for Health Care Strategies
Better care where it's needed most
Public sector leaders play a central role in supporting the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities with diverse identities. These leaders are at the forefront of growing public efforts to address gaps in access to care, improve health outcomes, and eliminate long-standing health inequities. Although leaders in state and territorial government are increasingly responsible for advancing health equity, they often work in small teams or as the sole person leading these efforts.
The Center for Health Care Strategies is seeking applications for the next cohort of the Equity Changemakers Institute (Changemakers), a year-long leadership development program designed to bolster the capacity of public sector leaders who oversee agency efforts to advance health equity. Changemakers aims to support these leaders in strengthening the skills to drive transformational change and positively impact the health of those who live in their states/territories, while creating a national network of peers who can support one another.
Public sector health and human services leaders from all states, commonwealths, and territories managing agency health policy efforts to advance health equity, reduce disparities in health care, and improve health outcomes are eligible to apply. This includes individuals from child welfare, long-term care, Medicaid, mental health, substance use treatment, public health, and broader health and human services “super agencies.” Applications are due October 23, 2024.
