I encourage everyone in my network to reach out to your State Legislature and them to co-sponsor H.R. 5658. This bill provides a solution to widespread confusion within the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA) about the relationship between state VR agencies and AbilityOne and state use organizations because of this guidance. The rule limits the options VR counselors provide to job seekers who have disabilities by not providing AbilityOne and state use agencies as an employment option because they are not viewed by VR as Competitive Integrated Employment. Everyone has the right to choose where and how they work, a bedrock of the “American Way.”
