In the grand tapestry of global innovation, a significant transformation is underway. The world is decarbonizing, and at the heart of this metamorphosis is the United States. Recent legislation, such as the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) or the Infrastructure Investment Jobs Act (IIJA), signifies a historic commitment to a more sustainable, resilient, and vibrant economy.

Echoing this national drive, California stands as a testament to the spirit of pioneering innovation and environmental stewardship. Now, a new chapter in this state's storied saga is beginning, with Bakersfield - the Energy Capital of California, ready to take center stage.

I am delighted to announce that GreenTech Network has partnered with the City of Bakersfield to embark on a 9-month journey we’re calling "Destination for Innovation". This campaign will spotlight Bakersfield's transformation into an epicenter of sustainable innovation, especially within water, energy, and agriculture sectors.

On August 2nd, we're kicking off our journey with a LinkedIn Audio Event - "Modeling the Future: A Community Approach to Innovation in Bakersfield". You'll hear firsthand from community leaders like Dr. Scott Andrews, Assistant City Manager, and Jenni Byers, Acting Economic & Community Development Director, who are steering Bakersfield through this exciting evolution.

Over the coming months, our exploration will start local, featuring in-depth conversations with city influencers like City Manager Christian Clegg, city council members, and more community leaders. The journey won't stop there. As we delve deeper, we will have the privilege of engaging with state-level and national leaders, uncovering the wider narrative of innovation that's unfolding across our country.
