CAK Happenings

CAK Happenings

A few weeks ago, I boarded a flight from CAK to Las Vegas to attend an aviation industry conference. This trip was my first on a plane since the spring of 2020, when the pandemic began to surface. Like many other industry events, the conference had been postponed last year due to COVID-19. After the conference concluded in Las Vegas, the trip out west was extended to go hiking in southern Utah. What a sense of gratitude to see the amount of travelers at the airports, guests sharing stories in the exhibit hall at the conference center, and explorers of all ages on the hiking trails. Observed were folks excited to get on a plane, anxious to see others in-person instead of a Zoom call, and relieved to pin another destination on a map for a national park or place of entertainment visited. The airlines and airports encountered on the trip all did a wonderful job at ensuring a safe travel experience. Plenty of sanitizing wipes were handed out by the airlines plus other social distance measures in place at the airports to safeguard the traveling public, including signage and PA announcements.?

CAK will continue to do our part for when you’re ready to travel again. We are committed to ensuring all airport users have the seamless experience expected out of your hometown airport. This past weekend, Long-Term Lot A reopened and shuttle service resumed for your convenience. New carrier Breeze Airways has been a hit so far with the local community to Charleston, New Orleans, and Tampa. If you have not already booked a flight, then we ask you give Breeze a try! Spirit Airlines also continues to fly to Orlando and Myrtle Beach for those last-minute getaways before the kids head back to school. When our community travels through their hometown airport on a consistent basis, airlines take notice, which helps us build the story for additional air service to new destinations. We thank you in advance for choosing CAK, allowing us to serve you through our 75th anniversary. Whether for business or leisure, we cannot wait to be a part of your upcoming travel experience to build lasting memories.

Lastly, please note our upcoming community event below. If you have any questions or feedback about CAK, then please message me; I welcome the chance to hear from you.

Enjoy the rest of the summer and remain safe.

It's a strange feeling, isn't it? To be grounded for so long, then back up in the air... Thanks for a great article Renato.
