President’s Corner — Employee Spotlight
We trust summer has been treating you well so far. At CAK, we are welcoming more guests through the doors for a busy travel season. We’ve also been busy debuting new community partnerships within the terminal, and unique concessions to improve the CAK travel experience. When traveling, please remember to arrive at least 90 minutes early and download the airline’s app for up-to-date information on flight information.
As part of our ongoing efforts to emphasize the important roles played by our most prized asset, our employees, in the coming months we will be providing a much-deserved spotlight on them through the Connections newsletter. Starting with this edition, the President’s Corner will showcase our valued CAK employees who go above and beyond to continually elevate your travel experience. In this edition, we would like to introduce you to Rod Doane.?
Rod Doane, Custodial Services Manager, started at CAK as summer help in 1988. Rod enjoys leading a team of twelve individuals and finds instant gratification when airport users commend the team on the cleanliness of the facility. Aside from ensuring all custodial efforts are top-notch, you’ll find Rod exercising, riding bikes/motorcycles, and fishing. Rod’s favorite vacation spot is Key West. Thank you, Rod, for making CAK ‘a better way to go.’ Your efforts and leadership make a tremendous impact (see more).

2022 FAA Inspection
Shoutout to our Operations and Field Maintenance teams, who received a?perfect score?during their 2022 FAA inspection.
The inspection was completed on May 25, 2022. The ASCI (Airport Safety Certification Inspector)?found?zero discrepancies?for both the E-Doc Inspection and the on-site facilities inspection, resulting in?Akron-Canton Airport (CAK)?receiving a perfect score?for the 2022 Part 139 Certification Inspection.
The FAA’s Annual Part 139 Certification Inspection is an in-depth inspection that tests and checks all aspects of the airside operation for safety and regulation compliance.

Akron Zoo Partnership
