Hello from the Cainiao team.

July has been an exciting month filled with several firsts. To start off, we launched the Cainiao Cikarang Logistics Park in Jakarta, Indonesia, as part of a regional network of Cainiao Hubs (cHubs). Our vision is to pave the way for future full chain capabilities to support local manufacturers for their logistics and trading needs.

In another first, we launched of our “Next-Day Delivery, Late Order Refund” program in Hong Kong, where consumers can now enjoy next-day delivery service for goods shipped from Cainiao’s warehouses in mainland China. Customers with packages arriving on their doorsteps outside of this 48-hour window will be eligible for up to RMB60 (US$8.30) in compensation per order.

We launched the China-Brazil pharmaceutical cold chain air freight services to expand Brazil’s local cold chain transportation network, as well as an express China-South Korea logistics service to ship merchandise bought on eCommerce platforms.

As part of our commitment to augment logistics and drive industry-wide digitalization, we are constantly expanding our reach through strategic partnerships.

This month, we partnered with -

·??????Procter & Gamble (P&G) to create an AI-powered supply chain. The partnership will also see the deployment of a fulfillment algorithm as we aim to empower a more sustainable supply chain.

·??????Kose (China) to strengthen customer experiences, by leveraging Cainiao’s green and smart logistics capabilities.

Cainiao Launches First Jakarta Warehouse as Part of Regional cHub Expansion Plan

Spanning 170,000 square meters, the project is situated in Delta mas Cikarang, Bekasi Agency, east of Jakarta, and is located near factories to boost the local manufacturing industry.

Prior to the launch, the project received strong interest from local businesses and has achieved a 75% occupancy rate.

Cainiao Partners P&G to Drive Supply Chain Sustainability

Cainiao signed an agreement with Procter & Gamble (P&G) to create an AI-powered supply chain that reduces transportation costs and carbon emissions. The partnership will see the deployment of a fulfillment algorithm that can predict demand for goods and subsequently consolidate cargo headed for the same address. Cainiao will also help P&G to upgrade its own fulfillment services.

Cainiao Launches China-Brazil Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Air Freight Services

With the new air freight services, Cainiao successfully transported over 30 tons of medicine from domestic pharmaceutical factories to Brazil.

Starting off in a cold storage in Beijing, China, the goods are transported to Shenzhen Airport in a dedicated temperature-controlled vehicle, and placed on the Cainiao Shenzhen-Sao Paulo 747 chartered flight to Brazil. Upon arrival in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the Cainiao Brazil team ensures smooth completion of the goods to its destination.

Cainiao and Kose Reach Strategic Cooperation to Enhance Customer Experience

Cainiao has strengthened its partnership with Kose (China) to augment end-to-end supply chain capabilities including optimizing warehouse allocation, construction of a second phase digital supply chain, driving green logistics efforts, and more—with the ultimate goal of building a customer-centric modern supply chain ecosystem.

Kose will also leverage Cainiao’s green logistics capabilities to foster greener practices across their supply chain.

Cainiao Launches Next-Day Delivery Service in Hong Kong, Introduces Compensation Model for Late Deliveries

A first of its kind in Hong Kong, Cainiao launched its “Next-Day Delivery, Late Arrival Compensation” service where packages sent from the Cainiao warehouse in mainland China will be delivered to pick up points or users in Hong Kong within a day.

Customers with packages landing on their doorsteps outside of this 48-hour window will be eligible for up to RMB60 (US$8.30) in compensation per order as Cainiao looks to strengthen its network in the city.

Cainiao Launches Express China-South Korea Service

Together with Shandong Port, Cainiao launched an express China-South Korea service to ship merchandise bought on eCommerce platforms.

With six 13-hour trips a week, the China-South Korea Daily will see approximately 20 40ft containers moving on Weihai Jiaodong International Container Shipping’s ro-ro ferry (New Grand Peace) between Weihai in Shandong province and South Korea’s Pyeongtaek port.
