Cadenza is 5 years old today!

It's a good time to thank all our clients, colleagues and partners over the last five years for a huge range of interesting projects, and great camaraderie that has made this first five years so enjoyable. Cadenza couldn't have done it without you!

We thought we'd take the opportunity to do a bit of a refresh of the logo and website (www.cadenza.co.uk) to reflect the way we have been working and intend to continue. We hope you like it!

The thought bubbles are intended to reflect the innovative and strategic approach we have taken for our clients, striving to add value by going beyond the standard industry practice and developing bespoke tools and approaches where it will deliver something better, quicker, or cheaper. For example:

• Best Value Asset Management approach that maximises constrained (or variable) budgets between different disciplines and objectively demonstrates how each intervention achieves the organisation's objectives for its assets.
• Identification of Economic Development Opportunities at new build stations to generate jobs, improve skills, stimulate demand and improve station security.
• Cost estimating algorithms to indicate estimated confidence levels and identify the line items bringing the greatest influence on the overall cost (not necessarily just the 'big ticket' items).
• Strategic approach to railway feasibility studies, considering political, social, legal, economic and environmental influences to improve deliverability within budget and time constraints
• Project management algorithms to automatically and dynamically prioritise between urgent tasks and important tasks across the team and individually.
• Trials of new software to find new ways of representing and managing asset management information relationships, recognising that the assets are often highly connected, but their data seldom is.
• Unlocking hidden benefits or reducing negative impacts of railway route or station design options though a more holistic multi-disciplinary approach.
• Online project management dashboards to illustrate progress, risks, priorities and opportunities

There are many other examples, but all have come about through listening carefully to the needs of clients and team members and thinking hard about how to do things better.  

So now we are looking forward to the next five years of thinking about more problems and devloping more innovative solutions with more of our wonderful clients, colleagues and partners. We hope you'll give us a chance to work with you soon!
