Hello! And welcome to the 40th edition of Cadence!

The plan for the rest of this year is to do one more on the 11th, and then resume again in the new year. I doubt people will be reading over Christmas, and I'm going to take time off this year.

How Chat GPT is changing SEO

The introduction of ChatGPT in November 2022 marked a significant shift for digital marketers globally. SEO experts are exploring the advantages and capabilities of this new technology.

ChatGPT enables users to input search queries conversationally, generating unique and precise content swiftly.

This feature offers numerous benefits for those aiming to quickly produce more content and expand their online ventures.

Additionally, webmasters can generate code more efficiently than manual methods, enhancing or even substituting the role of developers.

Yet, this advancement could lead to increased challenges due to heightened competition in digital marketing and uncertainties about how Google's search outcomes will adapt to this enhanced marketing acumen.

Google's Algorithmic Response To Increased Content Production

Considering the potential of numerous websites employing ChatGPT for content creation and website development, it raises the question: will there be significant shifts in rankings across various sectors?

Outside of Google updates, such as the Helpful Content Update, drastic changes in rankings have not been observed. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see significant progress in tech-savvy industries like consumer finance, gaming, or cryptocurrency.

As a result, new brands could suddenly appear on the first page for highly competitive keywords, or some sites might experience rapid success while others face severe setbacks if penalized.

As the barrier to content production has significantly decreased - Google will need a more robust processing system to handle this - something I believe they have in place and are refining, given AI content isn't bad.

Still need experience and SEO knowledge

SEO is a dynamic field, and ChatGPT has indeed introduced a new and exhilarating method for rapid content creation and code replication, aiding businesses, both new and established, in scaling up more efficiently.

While Google's principle that 'content is king' remains relevant, the strategic use of this content by SEO professionals is crucial and will likely reshape the SEO landscape.

Quick and high-quality content creation is beneficial, but it requires the support of intelligent and seasoned SEO.

Essential aspects include identifying the right content, conducting thorough keyword research, understanding user intent, and mastering meta-data and semantics.

Combining these elements with ChatGPT could pave the way for significant SEO success.
