Cactus and Me

Life teaches us lot of things and our surroundings continuously add to our learning, even the small one. Being a woman with short stature, people would at times give me a different look. As I was growing up, I always had this complex for being shorter than my peers whose height was more than I was. When you are short, people love giving you nicknames. Shorty, Mighty Mouse, 2by2 and Dwarf are just a handful of the nicknames. This kind of behavior usually generates Napolean Complex; it is okay sometimes you may need to make-up for those lost inches with your own perseverance.

On one sunny afternoon when I was gazing at my home garden, my eyes went on to the tiny creature with full of spines. I could relate to this little colorful creature.

Diversity is beautiful and this little cactus stands out in front of other plants because it is small. Usually gets the front spot on garden layout so that it is visible to all.

Under those sharp spines, there is a soft texture on the inside. Therefore, we need to give up on preconceptions

Some cactus takes time to bloom; it is okay to have aspirations and it fine to take your time to fulfill it

Cactus can survive in dry season so always good to save for a rainy day. Bad days come and go…we need to have #nevergiveup attitude.

Cactus roots can reserve water can survive during dry season so be open-minded and adapt the changing situation in life.

Be TALL in your thoughts. Being short is not all bad, and you will often surprise people with the amount of tenacity in such a short person, which will make you stand just as tall as anyone else

#bedifferent #beunique

It is all about perspective, Dipti! One may see the Cactus with spines and the other may see it as a resilient with strong survival characteristics plant. The same is with viewing people and situations. It was short and crisp.
