Cableizer : Russia and friends blocked

On 24.02.2022, Russia started a war against Ukraine, an independent and democratic country.

Many governments, institutions and companies from across the world have since implemented sanctions and bans on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. Let's each in our own area do what we can if we don't want to go back a hundred years in history again. It is time for a message against Russia and its allies and friends: one that is clear, common and consistent, one that doesn't fall silent and is willing to throw one's own wealth overboard for one's own values and beliefs. No more business!

We have shortly after beginning of this senseless and brutal war been blocking access to cableizer.com for Russia, Belarus and Syria. Thanks to the great services from Cloudflare we were able to do this quite easily. Four users are directly affected by this measure.

In the meantime, we added Russia's 'friend' China and the members of Russia's CSTO Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan to the blocking list. We have no users in these countries and are happy to keep it this way.

When we introduced Cloudflare over a year ago, our intention was to increase security and performance as described in our blog post. It's a bit ironic that we have to use it now to do the opposite for these countries, all thanks to the stupidity of Putin.
