We are very excited to announce the St John New Zealand recipients of the?CAA2022 Women In Ambulance Awards. A huge congratulations to?Anne-Maree Harris, Bridget Dicker, Jo Stuart, Monique Le Roux, Nicola Cunneen and Norrie Meauli! You are all amazing wāhine.
These honours from the Council of Ambulance Authorities (Australasia) recognise the incredible women working in ambulance services across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
Get to know our 2022 winners
Anne-Maree Harris
Anne-Maree is our Nelson Bays Territory Manager and has been in the ambulance service for 25 years. Anne-Maree is also on our Diversity and Inclusion Council with the portfolio for Women in St John and on our People and Capability Team as the Co Facilitator for Everyday heroes and Positive Leadership.
Bridget Dicker
Bridget is our Head of Clinical Audit and Research and has been with St John for 20 years. She also concurrently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Auckland University of Technology. Bridget developed and now manages the New Zealand out-of-hospital cardiac arrest registry; established for research into epidemiological or clinical factors that may contribute to improved outcomes. Bridget is active in supporting the development of research skill at St John and has published extensively on the management of cardiac arrest pre-hospital.
Jo Stuart

Jo is an Emergency Medical Technician and has been with St John for 7 years. Beginning her career as a volunteer, she completed her diploma while working as a teacher and looking after her family. Jo is very highly regarded by her colleagues for her diligent hard work, humility and dedication
Monique Le Roux
Monique is a Paramedic and has been with St John for 12 years. She studied Paramedicine and Nursing at the same time; progressing from a First Responder, to Emergency Medical Technician to Paramedic. As well as her Paramedicine and Nursing degrees, she also has experience as a call taker and first aid trainer.
Nichola Cunneen
Nichola is a Paramedic and started her journey with St John 25 years ago in the youth program. In her time with St John she has had some amazing achievements, including being?a medical alarm rep, Treasurer of the Area committee,?key fundraiser, Tasman Recruitment guru, events officer, station manager and mentor to a number of officers whom have achieved EMT, FR and EMA roles.
Norrie Meauli
Norrie is a Duty Centre Manager and has been with St John for over 7 years. Norrie began as a Call Handler then became the Call Handler Team Leader and is now Duty Centre Manager.?The way she supports, encourages and inspires her team to do great things is highly valued.
