CAA Dark UX?
I recently cancelled my CAA membership and received a letter shortly after saying "GLAD TO HAVE YOU BACK!" with a mock membership card offering a discount. At first glance, it gave the impression that my membership had been reactivated, making me question if I had been charged again. It took a moment to realize that it was simply an advertisement.
This could easily cause confusion and prompt some people to call in to double-check their cancellation—potentially providing CAA with a chance to upsell their services.
This might be considered a mild example of dark UX design, and it raises concerns. Misleading design strategies create unnecessary stress for users and ultimately damage trust in the long run. A clearer, more transparent approach is a much better practice.
