The C Words: Maximise your success as a leader.

A Successful Year Means Remembering the 3 Cs

When you look back, how do you feel?

Is it pride, pain, or something else?

I hope you see accomplishments and feel happiness, fulfilment and success.?

Even if that's the case, it's natural to want the path ahead to be just as good or even better.

Bearing this in mind, what do you want to accomplish in the next 12 months? Something probably popped into your mind immediately. We all have dream realities we would love to create. You deserve to live your best-ever life. We all do.?

In the Leading with Incredible Impact group, I shared 'The 3 C Words' you'll want to keep top of mind so that you can maximise your leadership success.

If you want success as a leader, focus on The C Words below:

Create

You need to develop a game plan. That means creating a plan of action. Give yourself a specific target that's very detailed in nature. It's much easier to achieve anything if it's clearly defined. Conversely much harder when it's not!

I teach work-life balance, and I've noticed that the leaders who struggle with this the most are typically the ones who've spent little to no time getting clarity on their work-life balance goal. Subsequently, they have nothing to aim for or measure their success with - so it's unachievable.

Once you know precisely what it is you're trying to achieve, do your homework. What tools and resources will you need? This is a part of the planning process. It's vital for you to create a workable plan of action.

What people can help you get where you want to go? Are there courses you can take, books you can read, or videos you can watch that can move you along a path to success?

After you've created a game plan, you obviously have to take action. Take some small action every day. It doesn't matter if it seems inconsequential. You programme your mind to automatically move forward each day by taking small baby steps. Over time this can lead to huge results.

After you've created your game plan and started out on your path, reach out to a confidant.?

Confide

Confide in someone. Let them know what you're doing. Try to find someone who's been supportive of you, possibly someone who is trying to achieve the same thing. When you get someone else involved and let them know of the success you're trying to create in the coming year, that really holds your feet to the fire. Now you have someone else who knows what you're trying to do. This can hold you accountable, and you can also help them achieve their goals.

Celebrate

All progress is good. When you celebrate any victories that you create, chemicals like dopamine, serotonin and endorphins are produced. These are referred to as happy hormones because they create happiness and joy. Your mind wants this feeling again. It looks back over what action you took that led to these feelings and wants to do that again.

Create a plan, confide in someone, and celebrate your progress and any action you took in pursuit of a goal.

Follow this simple recipe and start noticing how things change!
