A recent study by Ma et al. (2024) evaluates the effectiveness of GreenFeed and respiration chambers for measuring enteric gas emissions from dairy cows fed 3-nitrooxypropanol (3-NOP) and housed in tie stalls. ?

When comparing the two methods, the authors reported a strong correlation (0.84) between CH4 production measured using GreenFeed and respiration chambers. There were no differences in daily CH4?production or intensity between GF and RC (442 vs. 443 g CH4/d or 16.6 vs. 16.2 g CH4?/kg MY).?For those engaged in dairy research or sustainability initiatives, this study presents empirical data showing that GreenFeed is a reliable tool for on-farm emissions monitoring.
