The C++ Committee at Meeting C++ 2024

This year has the unique setup that the C++ committee is meeting a week after the conference and its geographically close by. So that many committee members are traveling through Berlin and visiting Meeting C++. Its a great opportunity for the attendees in Berlin to meet and talk with many of the great committee members! I've made a video highlighting the talks on the weekend, this is the text form covering the committee contributions to Meeting C++ 2024.

Some of the committee members are giving talks, so I thought it would be interesting to look at what they're talking about. Its a great mix of C++ topics, like Andreas Fertig ist talking about Fast and small C++, focusing on storage size, new C++23 features with lambdas and how his cppinsights.io website can help you out. Daniela Engert shines light on not getting lost in translation, something that has many meanings in our language and code bases! As security has become an important topic (finally!) I want to highlight the talk Security in C++: Hardening techniques from the trenches by Louis Dionne and Konstantin Varlamov.

A list of C++ standard related topics:

I expect the keynotes to all touch on various standard topics, but especially want to highlight in this context that Herb Sutter will keynote on peering forward - C++'s next decade.

See you in Berlin!

I think this years lining up of Meeting C++ and the committee meeting is a great chance for both sites. The lounge and the hallway track will offer space to actually discuss your proposals with attendees.

And for those that can't make it to Berlin, you still can attend online. Meeting C++ seems to be the last C++ conference offering this option, so your support will keep this going into the next year!
