Is BYOD allowed for CMMC?
What a loaded question.
Buckle up, folks… this could get spicy.
When looking to meet the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements, many Department of Defense (DoD) contractors wonder how integrating a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy — where employees are permitted to use their personal devices for performing work-related functions — impacts their pursuit of a CMMC certification. In other words, would a Defense Industrial Base (DIB) contractor fail a CMMC assessment just for using BYOD? Or, is achieving CMMC compliance even realistic with BYOD? In our latest post, we will address these questions and share important CMMC considerations for BYOD.
Our take on the proposed CMMC 2.0 rule.
The DoD published it's proposed CMMC 2.0 rule on 26 December.? Here's our notes, comments, and questions about that proposal.? We'll be publishing a blog on our key takeaways in February.? The main takeaway though: going through a CMMC assessment is going to be expensive and tedious for small businesses. ?

1 年BYOD devices = Quite a subject. Think isolated VLANS, bandwidth limits, traffic monitoring while at work and workplace policies on actually having them at your workplace. Phones have cameras, and cameras and CUI do NOT get along. Just something to think about. ??
