Hey there,

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Lesley and I have a billions of lovely Irish family and friends (including our mum who, technically speaking, created Comms Creatives) so we'll be celebrating a bit later.

Right, I have some stuff to get your creative comms brain firing on all cylinde

Comms Creatives content of the week

It's possible this is not the first Content Of The Week for?Orkney Library ?(I lose track)...

Contents: "Picture the scene. It's 1987. You've heard about the new cartoon movie An American Tail. Maybe you've seen it at the cinema. You spot a book in the library so you borrow it. It's only been loaned a couple of times before. The librarian stamps it. Due back on Christmas Eve 1987. * Photo shows book called "An American Tail"? with cartoon from the film on it."?
Contents: "So you return the book to the library. Not on Christmas Eve 1987 however. March 2022. Last Thursday. 35 years later. Amazing. *photo of inside the cover where the date the book was loaned is stamped"?

I love how the people in Orkney Library let us in the wonderful world of a librarian.?

Too often brands have moments and stories that are discussion point for staff that day. But they leave it at that.

Orkney Library show us that it's very charming to share some of those stories with your audience.

Comms Creatives tip

Let 'em in

Keep your brain tuned to spot stories that make you smile - they might be content!

Behind the scenes stuff feels more authentic, and less marketing-y.?So people like it more.

You can plan and craft magnificent content designed to smash your brand's comms goals.?

But often, it's these types of posts that perform best for brands.

Why comms people are the Schitt

Name: "Tweet screenshot from @HelReynolds: A day in the life of a #comms team, as explained by Moira Rose. Gif shows Moira Rose gurning"?
Name: "A colleague who doesn’t work in comms teaches you how to suck eggs. Gif shows Moira on the phone saying "d'you know I'm actually good at this?"?
Name: "When yet another task lands in your inbox last minute with a ridiculous deadline. Gif shows Moira saying "This is unacceptable"?"?

There is more of this silly shenanigans in?this Twitter thread ?if you can't get enough Schitt's Creek comms content.

Comms Cartoons

If you're feeling overwhelmed or just plain knackered. Remember that no job is as important as you and your health.

I shared this on social media last week -?and it has struck quite a chord.

Cartoon: woman cries at laptop. She’s surrounded by piles of papers and documents. Ones you can see say: Always-on culture, Last minute requests, Can't switch off, People pleasing, No priorities, Underestimated time a task needs, Perfectionism

People tell me?they're struggling.

Step back a sec.

Stop worrying about letting others down, & do what it takes to look after yourself.

People will get over &/or forget anything you let slip. You can’t work if you burn yourself out.

Fighting Putin's Propaganda

Your own social media?training?
