BYD Sets to Unveil Advanced Intelligent Driving System Amid Record Sales
Chinese automotive giant BYD is preparing to unveil its advanced intelligent driving system, "The Eye of God(天神之眼)," at a strategic launch event scheduled for February 10th at its Shenzhen headquarters. This announcement comes as the company reports robust January sales of 300,538 vehicles, underscoring its dominant position in the new energy vehicle market.
The company's commitment to intelligent driving technology is reflected in its substantial R&D investment, which doubled to 39.92 billion yuan in 2023. According to Yang Dongsheng, BYD's Vice President and Head of Automotive New Technology Research Institute, the company maintains a dedicated intelligent driving team of over 5,000 professionals, including more than 1,000 core algorithm specialists. This investment is part of a broader systems innovation team of 15,000 personnel.
Yang revealed that BYD's approach to intelligent driving differs significantly from its competitors. Rather than focusing solely on urban autonomous driving, BYD is developing what it terms "broad-spectrum intelligent driving" - a comprehensive system that integrates autonomous driving capabilities with the company's Xuanji(璇玑)architecture and electrification technology. The company aims to achieve superior driving assistance that exceeds human capabilities.

This global momentum, combined with the upcoming intelligent driving capabilities, positions BYD for continued growth throughout 2025.
