BVMW Malta holds its 10th Roundtable Networking Session at the American University of Malta.
The Malta Representation Office for the German Mittelstand, (BVMW Malta) organised its 10th Roundtable Networking Session at the American University of Malta on the 8th of February 2024. The session included an introduction to the German Association’s efforts to promote networking and business relationships between Maltese and German Businesses as well as a presentation by the American University of Malta highlighting its academic activities, current initiatives, and room for collaboration with local and international businesses.
The Roundtable Session, which is the first Roundtable Session organised this year by BVMW Malta was well attended by more than 20 individuals from different countries coming from different sectors, including innovation, advanced technologies, renewable energy, environmental solutions, industrial relations, professional and corporate services, education, and more.
Mr. Alfons Schwarte, the Official Representative for BVMW Malta, announced that the association is looking to increase its overall representation in Malta to provide access and business collaboration between German SMEs, Maltese SMEs, and other international businesses represented by the Association. He mentioned that such roundtable meetings are part of an initiative by BVMW Malta to help connect more businesses in the process. Mr. Schwarte also stressed that the International Association now represents more than 1,000,000 businesses from around the world and is one of the most popular and well-known associations for SMEs in Germany. He extended an open invitation for everyone interested in international business collaboration to reach the association for more information on the benefits of being a member of the association.
Prof. Oussama Jadayel, Vice President at the American University of Malta, introduced the University to the individuals present. Prof. Jadayel mentioned that the American University of Malta, established in 2016, is now registering an increased number of student admissions and is currently hosting students from more than 48 countries. The University now boasts a portfolio of 10 Undergraduate Degree Programmes and 7 Graduate Degree Programmes, ranging from Accounting, Engineering, Game Development, Tourism and Hospitality Management, amongst many others. Prof. Jadayel also explained that the American University of Malta would be open to collaborating on new projects for the benefit of the community, such as CSR initiatives, pro-sustainability projects, greenification projects, and educational exchanges.
Following the presentation, an informal social opportunity was given to the attendees, complemented by the delightful terrace view of the University, enhancing the overall charm of the event and providing a conducive setting for informal networking among all participants.
