BuzzU Signs MAC Conference, Looks Ahead to Supporting More Conferences
The name, image, and likeness (NIL) industry is only 20 months old, and the integration of analytics is constantly growing, which makes the partnership that BuzzU announced with the Mid-American Conference (MAC) all the more important.
As of March 7, 2023, BuzzU is the official NIL data partner for the MAC - onboarding Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo, and Western Michigan.
“We are honored to welcome the MAC as our first conference partner. This partnership was a long time in the making,” said BuzzU Founder Zach Novoselsky. “Not only did I play college football at Western Michigan, but BuzzU had the privilege of basing the company’s first data report on the Western Michigan football team.”
For those less familiar with the intersection of data analytics and NIL, the question might be asked: why a conference would seek such a service?
The answer is simple – to level the playing field.?
By providing conferences and schools with marketability data, BuzzU aids in leveling the playing field for student-athletes during partnership conversations with businesses. Forward-thinking conferences like the MAC are keeping their athletes at their member schools in large part by providing them with NIL resources.
