As a culture the Swiss tend to be a conservative people, this is not a negative issue it just is! As such foriegn investment has always been an issue, additionally, years of experience has shown that foriegn investment in the Swiss market can have a negative impact. The trend in recent years has been to restrict foriegn direct ownership in Swiss properties to mitigate the negative impact seen and the over use of foriegn investment or capital in commercial properties.

Additional issues due to a very independant Cantonal system can lead to complications, confusion and in the end the denial to foriegn capital within the market.
