Buyers are looking for videos; here’s what they want to see!

So, you’ve signed up, but you’re yet to take the video plunge? This one’s for you. ??

This email is packed with tips, hacks and pointers that’ll help you shape the perfect video, ready to upload and sell.

Pre-Marker Video launch, we spoke to brands, lots of brands.

Small independent businesses, large corporations, medium sized enterprises, startups.

From heads of marketing to content curators, CEOs and pretty much anyone you can think of in-between, whilst their business DNA varied wildly, one problem arose again and again- a shortage of great social media content.

In an era of short attention spans (8.25 seconds to be precise, that’s a 4.25-second reduction since the year 2000), and an always-on social presence, brands need instantly available content to showcase their brand and products in fresh, engaging ways.

So, if you’re ready to tap into this demand (and earn up to $100 per video sold), keep reading for our five favourite tips now!??

5 tips for video perfection

Step 1: Loosely plan out your video.

Start by thinking about the general video idea. Is it a product review? A tutorial? A get-ready-with-me? A daily vlog? Maybe it’s a cooking demo or a pack with me?

Ensure the theme revolves around a product in an obvious way, and do a little research by first looking at the brand’s social channels to see the types of videos they currently post.

Remember, brands are much more likely to buy videos that really showcase their products in fun, authentic ways.

Step 2) Think about what the video offers a brand.

Brands are willing to pay up to $200 for videos, but they must offer value by being interesting, engaging or educational.

Showcase new, out-of-the-box ways of using products. Show your personality and creativity. Offer new perspectives and ideas on brand use. Make the content visually appealing to engage the viewer.

If a video feels as though it’s been put together a couple of minutes and lacks purpose, it’s highly likely that the brand will skip over it, so take the time to think the video through!

Step 3) Quality really is key.

Ask yourself: would a brand pay for a video that’s blurry, out of focus, has poor sound quality or isn’t filmed in the correct dimensions needed for Instagram or TikTok?

You may have guessed the answer to that, so here is your 3-step check pre-record:

?? Clean your camera lens.

?? Select ‘HD’ mode in camera settings.

?? Make sure there isn’t excess clutter in your frame, and check for any intrusive background noises.

4) Listen up; sound is key!

If your video isn’t visually narrated in a way that makes perfect sense, we strongly recommend adding a voiceover to help tell the story.

We suggest keeping any trending music off your videos (for longevity), but a completely silent video can often feel awkward, so adding some narration, sound effects, or gentle ambient sound will help pull it all together.

5) Post-record checks!

So, your video has been recorded and is now ready to upload. Great!

Log into your Marker Video account and hit ‘upload video’, then follow the steps on the screen.

A strong video title, description, and accurate brand naming and tags are a super important step, so spend a little time here finessing your video upload.

Once ready, complete the upload, then leave it to us to review!
