BUYER BEWARE!

BUYER BEWARE!

Have you carefully read your home insurance policy or did you just take your agent's word that you're adequately covered?

This is a section of a MAJOR insurance carrier's Texas Homeowners Insurance policy. Buried deep (page 59!) is this little snippet. It contradicts earlier language concerning your roof. This seemingly minor amendment has huge implications. Bottom line...anything made of metal on your roof (including the roof itself if its also made of metal) is only covered if it has an actual hole in it. If you have this policy and it hails...your gutters, flashing, vents, etc. would be EXCLUDED unless they have holes in them (not just dents).

If you're unsure of what you have, feel free to call us. We're policy experts. We'd be happy to help you understand what is and isn't covered.
