City Manager RTRs & Job Board (6/30/2024)
In this week's round up of job openings, I want to draw your attention to the La Paz County vacancy.
The current county administrator who is departing had been working without a contract. It appears this agency does not have a history of giving contracts to executives. Also, the entire three member Board is up for election in November according to the article.
In California, Simi Valley is now on the hunt for two assistant city managers. This is because one is retiring and the other was recently promoted to the top spot.
In Pennsylvania, Bristol Borough Manager Jim Dillon is pullling double duty. The governing body is lending him to Morrisville to serve in an interim capacity as they find a replacement for the recently departed Judith Danko.

In the press release, we questioned whether Baker Tilly provided accurate information to the mayor and governing body who recently announced they were going to violate state open records laws.

8 个月Sigh. Key West was very lucky to have Al Childress. I’m sure he will get picked up by somewhere great, added bonus if it’s in a more affordable location. South Florida in general is becoming impossible for anyone who didn’t buy before 2015.

8 个月Joseph Turner Oh, and I'm not sure the body count on Haines, Alaska, but I think they've chewed through managers at a stunning rate as well. That's a data point for AAME... the number of managers over the past ten years. Should be part of every job posting.

8 个月Oxford, MD deserves better. I would not encourage anyone to pursue that position until an experienced and effective interim TM is appointed, has six months to a year to right the ship, and a transparent and effective executive search process (outside firm or not) is in place. Absent that this is close to a "non go" position for the foreseeable future. Sad to say.
