Buy to Uni Mortgage

WOULD YOU LIKE TO OWN YOUR HOME RATHER THAN PAY RENT WHEN AT UNI?????????????

BUY TO UNI MORTGAGE may be a good solution for you!

??Can a student become a landlord – Yes!

??Who is it for? – students Over 18 years old in Higher Education in England and Wales who have at least 1 year left at Uni

??Will deposit be required? – not necessarily if parents can give guarantee/legal charge over their property or place their savings on a special deposit account

??How much can I borrow? – lenders have their limits, but it will depend on the income generated from letting rooms in your house. It may be topped up by your parents’ income too

??How many tenants can let rooms in my house? – usually up to two other people and some lenders don’t mind if they are not students

??Where does the property I am buying need to be located? – usually within 10 mile radius of your University. There are properties that lenders won’t lend on so check with a mortgage adviser first.

??If my parent would like to take this mortgage jointly with me, will they have to pay higher stamp duty land tax? – in many cases they won’t be liable but always check with a solicitor or tax adviser first!
