Businessmen are also like ‘soldiers’ fighting for our country.

The most patriotic citizens of any country are its businessmen – adding to the GDP, paying taxes and creating employment.?
India remains a shining spot in the global gloom and doom. The world has been in a state of turmoil for quite some time now. Be it the virus-lockdown disruptions, the military invasion across international boundaries, national economies going bust, etc. ?
?But the longest war that has been going on in the world is the economic war. National economies have been competing with each other in trade and commerce, currency flows and reserves, etc. India has been shining on the world’s political stage and has able to voice its independent opinions and views on many subjects. But to be an effective political superpower, you need to have commensurate economic strength. Being a “Vishwa Guru” won’t suffice.
?If we take the corollary forward, our businessmen are the warriors fighting this ‘economic’ war for our country. They are the most loyal and patriotic citizens fulfilling their biggest national duty of paying taxes and creating employment. If India is to win and be an economic superpower, then we need to empower our businessmen. They have the skills and knowledge to excel and be the best in the world, but we need to provide them with a conducive business environment. Regulators need to be facilitators.

Most of all, they just need sustainable and suitable capital to execute their business plans.
India is abundant in natural resources and human resources. However, capital is scarce compared to developed countries. One of the major reasons for this is its relatively underdeveloped capital and financial markets. There are some with excess capital and other with excess opportunities, however the money exchange between them is rather restricted.
India needs a bigger finance market. Money is the fuel for business and economy. The traditional financial system have not kept pace with the changing business dynamics. If we aspire to become an economic superpower, we need a major disruption and transformation in the way the financial institutions have been ‘serving’ the business community.?
